Northern Nightrider Kennel was established in 1975. I grew up in a hunting family with nine brothers on a 640 acre farm in northeastern Wisconsin. My first hound was a black and tan given to me from my older brother John who was going into the army. It was a Wagner bred female he purchased from Owen Bowman. Over the years I have been fortunate enough to meet and work with many of the old timers who bred and owned Wagner stock.

I've been a member of the Black and Tan Association since 1980, and an officer of the Pike River Coon Club for seventeen years. Pleasure hunting soon turned into showing and competition hunting through the seventies and eighties. Work soon got in the way and the hounds had to take a bit of a backseat for a while.

It is a passion of mine to breed the Wagner/Nightrider line, produciong the old fashioned bugle mouth, winding, trail and tree hounds that carry the oldest of bloodlines of the U.K.C. registered Black and Tans.

I believe in going back to the well for breeding stock. This has served me well in my breeding program. I typically raise two to three litters of puppies a year and take great pride in producing healthy pups.
